Hachnosas Sefer Torah by Berger Family in Memory of Vishiver Ruv

This Sunday afternoon, family and friends of the Berger family, as well as mispalelim and neighbors of the area, will march down the streets of New City in the joy of Torah. 

The Sefer Torah is being written by R’ Meir Hersh Berger and family in the memory of his father-in-law, Rav Naftoli Tzvi of Visheve, the son of Rebbe Boruch of Visheve, who was the son of the She’eris Menachem, Rebbe Menachem Mendel of Visheve. 

The She’eris Menachem, a son of the Ahavas Yisroel of Viznitz, was renowned throughout Romania, and had one of the most prestigious yeshivos in prewar Romania where hundreds of chassidishe bachurim learned. 

Rav Naftoli Tzvi rebuilt from the ashes of the Holocaust, and his legacy is being commemorated with this Sefer Torah. 

The procession will leave from the Berger home, 12 Keltz Street, New City, at 4:45, on its way to the Kossoner Beis Medrash of Spring Valley.
