Friday Night Burglary of Montebello Home

Friday Night Burglary of Montebello Home

by M.C. Millman

Last Friday night at 7:30 p.m., a car pulled into the driveway of a house on Oxford Drive in Montebello Pines and disgorged three passengers, who promptly got to work ransacking the house.

"I live in Boro Park," the house owner told Rockland Daily. "And we come to Montebello for Shabbos occasionally. As a matter of fact, I was supposed to be there this week for Shabbos. I was there Thursday and Friday but ended up leaving for Shabbos."

The thieves smashed the glass of the sliding door in the back to get into the house after ripping off the cameras and proceeded to take whatever they wanted in the house, including two segway scooters in the garage.

"This was a targeted attack," the owner said. "They knew I wasn't going to be home.  If my cleaning lady hadn't come in this morning, I wouldn't even have known about the break-in."

"When I first moved in and installed the cameras on the house, my neighbors all told me that nothing happens in Montebello and that I had to be a crazy guy from Boro Parker for installing security," the homeowner shares. "Now I am saying to everyone, please make sure your cameras are on, your doors are locked, and if you have an alarm, make sure it's connected."
