Finkelstein Memorial Library Parking Garage Checks Out During Repairs

by M.C. Millman
Finkelstein Memorial Library's thirty-five-year-old parking garage is undergoing construction after the library received a grant providing the funding to begin the much-needed repairs.
According to Finkelstein Memorial Library Director Laura Wolvin, the construction is expected to take four to six weeks. During that time, the parking spots in the garage and directly above the garage will be unavailable. Parking in front of the library is still available, along with parking on the Madison Avenue side of the library and Chestnut Street.
After the entire slab is replaced, the construction will conclude with repairs to fix drainage and a resealing of the area. Not only is parking prohibited in this area, but walking through the construction zone during construction is also prohibited.
The funding for the construction comes from an NYS Library Construction Grant through DASNY.
"We appreciate your patience and understanding," the library director shares with Rockland Daily's readers, "while we undertake this necessary repair work."
