Farkash Tallis Retail Locations Closing Indefinitely Following Blaze

Shortly before Sukkos, a fast-moving blaze burned the Farkas Tallis factory in Liberty, New York, to the ground. The proprietor, Reb Meir Duvid Farkas, made headlines with his calm demeanor as he stood serenely watching his business burn down.

An ardent Breslover Chassid, he cited Rebbe Nachman’s Torah 4 which states that “when a person will understand that all the happenings in his life are for his good, he will live a life of Olam Habah.”

“When we forget this, then we run into problems,” Reb Meir Duvid said at the time.

It took a few months, but now the supply chain has been cut short, as the retail locations cannot meet the demands of customers, and so the stores—among them the Monsey location—are closing for the foreseeable future.

“Since we had a big fire in our factory, we will postpone all our services until further notice,” reads a sign in the window. “Any order with a deposit will be fulfilled and completed.”
