Famed Yeshiva Ziv Hatorah of Eretz Yisroel to Open Monsey Branch

Famed Yeshiva Ziv Hatorah of Eretz Yisroel to Open Monsey Branch

By: Yitzy Fried

With the advent of the new yeshiva year, a new cheder is set to open in Monsey—bringing a revolutionary path of learning to the community, which is in actuality a return to an age-old curriculum of learning.

Yeshiva Ohr HaTorah will serve as a branch of Ziv HaTorah of Eretz Yisroel, which follows a unique curriculum, giving children a firm grounding in the entirety of chumash in the younger grades before moving onto Mishnayos. They then cover a large part of Shisha Sidrei Mishnah before moving on to Gemara, and then continue the rest of Mishnayos simultaneously.

A major emphasis is extensive review of material that was learned in the past.

Rav Meir Weissman, the menahel of Ziv HaTorah will also serve as the menahel of the yeshiva here, and has given extensive training to the staff of the new Yeshiva during their trip to Eretz Yisroel.

One parent who will be sending his children to Ohr Hatorah told Rockland Daily, “I had always felt that it was important for the children to complete Torah, and to master it. This yeshiva is the answer to what so many of the parents have been looking for, and we hope to see our children grow into Talmidei Chachomim and Yirei Shomayim.
