Detours Ahead: in Ramapo and Clarkstown as Old Nyack Turnpike is Resurfaced

By Yehudit Garmaise

While the Rockland County Highway Department (RCHD) resurfaces the Old Nyack Turnpike/South Central Avenue from Route 45 to Pipetown Hill Road in Ramapo and Clarkstown today and tomorrow, drivers should seek alternate routes.

The RCHD, which has issued a traffic alert, has posted detour signs that point to open roads, however, delays are to be expected.

Residents who would like to submit road service requests for roadway issues, such as postholes, catch basins, and sewer covers that need to be repaired, can click on http://rocklandgov/departments/highway/request-for-service/.

For more information, readers can call the RCHD at (845) 638-5060.
