Demarest Kill Park to Close for Dam Rehabilitation Project

Demarest Kill Park to Close for Dam Rehabilitation Project

Rockland Daily Staff

Starting January 3, the Demarest Kill Co. Park on New Hempstead Road in New Hempstead will close for the duration of the Demarest Dam Rehabilitation Project.

The Rockland County Drainage Agency has undertaken the $5.7M project, which is expected to bring the seventy-five-year-old Zebrowski-Morahan Demarest Kill County Park Dam up to modern safety standards.

The park, including the parking lot, will remain closed for an extended period with hopes of reopening during the summer.
