Decomposed Body Surfaces Near Bear Mountain Docks

Reports came in on Sunday, July 17th, of a decomposed body, found floating on the Hudson Valley River near Tompkins Cove in Rockland County.

The body was removed with the assistance of the State Forest Rangers and park police.

State police were notified by state parks police of the body found in the water on the west side of the Hudson River near the Bear Mountain Boat Dock, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police.

The Rockland County Medical Examiner’s office is working with agencies to identify the individual.
