Counter Rally Will Be Held Tomorrow During Ceasefire Protest in New City

When the Rockland for Ceasefire group starts its protest demanding an end to Israel's war against Hamas tomorrow in New City, it will be met with a resolute group rallying in support of Israel's right to defend itself and demand the return of its hostages.
Both rallies are scheduled in front of the County Executive Office on 18 New Hempstead Road in New City at three p.m.
"We've been holding a rally every week in support of Israel on Route 59 in Nanuet in front of Marshalls," the rally's organizer told Rockland Daily. "It's been raining the last two weeks, but otherwise, we are out there showing our support of Israel. We do it through love and not through hate. We started off with about ten or fifteen people, but now we've grown."
The weekly rally started when one of the group's founders was driving on Route 59 and noticed a ceasefire protest taking place on the corner of Middletown Road. Now the group is there every week, playing music and waving Israeli and Americanflags.
"We decided we needed to show our support of Israel," said the organizer, "and so every time they have an event, we have one as well. We get a lot of support from the people who drive by who say it gives them a lot of chizuk to see that we are out there representing Israel. We just want people to know that we aren't going anywhere. We are here to stay -and we're standing together as one."
