Congressman Lawler Announces the Closing of 3,000 Constituent Cases

By Rockland Daily Staff

Congressman Mike Lawler hit a tremendous milestone today after his office closed his  3,000th constituent case, which means he successfully pursued an average of fifty cases a week.

Cases have ranged from bringing constituents home safely from Israel after the October 7th attacks to expediting passports for hundreds of families in NY-17, including the opening of a new passport facility in the district, to helping those who came to the US for a brighter future, including spouses and family members of US citizens, acquire green cards, to advocating with the IRS to send long-awaited tax refunds, to securing long-awaited VA, Social Security, or Medicare benefits. In total, over $13.85 million has been returned to NY-17 through casework.

“I’m thrilled that our team has closed over 3,000 cases in just 63 weeks, returning over 13.85 million dollars to constituents,”  the congressman shares. “Our district staff are some of the best in the business, and I’m thankful for all of their hard work on behalf of the residents of New York’s 17th Congressional District. From helping get folks home from Israel in the wake of the horrific October 7th terror attacks to getting passports for families going on those long-awaited vacations, my team has been hard at work improving the lives of residents of NY-17. I can’t wait to see what the next nine months of top-notch constituent services bring.”
