Congressman Lawler Announces $58 Million Federal Funding Allocation for NY-17

By M.C. Millman

After reporting on the recently secured $36 million in funding for community project needs of New York's 17th District, as reported by Rockland Daily here, Congressman Mike Lawler announced a new total with the passage of over $58 million in federal funding for NY-17 priorities with the passage of the second appropriations bill last week.

The total is far more in one year than had been allocated to NY-17 in the two years combined of the previous Congress.

"For too long, us New Yorkers have sent more of our hard-earned money to Washington than we have gotten back for our important priorities," says Congressman Lawler.  "I'm so glad we could secure so much funding to meet so many critical needs across our community in Fiscal Year 2024. With the appropriations process for Fiscal Year 2025 about to begin when we return to Washington, you can rest assured I will continue fighting relentlessly to ensure our district gets the resources it needs. I'm going to make sure New York's 17th District stays on the map and has its important priorities met."
