The Highway Department is gradually making its way through the Town of Clarkstown to pick up the leaves from 25,000 households. 

To have leaves picked up from a Clarkstown residence, the leaves must be in a loose pile or biodegradable bagged leaves on the lawn or curbside. Plastic bags are not acceptable. Residents should also know that pick-up of yard waste, including brush, twigs, branches, and logs, is suspended until April.
