Chemical Spill Provides the Perfect Opportunity for a Kiddush Hashem by Chavivim

Chemical Spill Provides the Perfect Opportunity for a Kiddush Hashem by Chavivim

by Rockland Staff

Rockland's Chavivim volunteers jumped at the opportunity to help at a chemical spill yesterday at the Valley Cycle Shop on Route 59 in Monsey.

The Rockland County Hazmat Task Force and multiple fire departments, including Nyack, Spring Valley, and West Haverstraw, were at the scene of the chemical spill. EMS was called to evaluate an individual who had inhaled fumes from the chemical spill.

As the event was still active after several hours, Chavivim sprang into action and brought an abundance of food and drinks for the hard-working individuals from local and state agencies.

"We are always here to serve the community," says David Friedman, Chavivim Coordinator. "We were all glad to be able to help out and make a true kiddush Hashem to so many local and state agencies at once."
