Chaverim of Rockland to Hold Annual Kids Safety Day

By M. C. Millman

Chaverim of Rockland's annual Safety Day: Bike Registration and Fun Fair is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 26 with a rain date of July 10. The widely popular and heavily attended event takes place annually on the fields of Viola Park.

Bikes, scooters, segues, and carriages will have a designated area to register each set of wheels with the police department. Registering will assist in recovery if any are stolen. Free helmets will be distributed during the event as well.

Safety education and awareness presentations will also be given throughout the afternoon by the Monsey Fire Department, New York State Police, Rockland County Sheriff, the Town of Ramapo Police Department, Spring Valley Police, Brewer Fire Department, the Coast Guard, and Hatzolah of Rockland. Children will also enjoy balloon rides, helium balloons, prizes, cotton candy, slush, drinks and ices.

The day will fully focus on showing children that fun and safety can be combined into one exciting day.
