Camp Elyon Welcomes Visit by Senator Weber

Camp Elyon Welcomes Visit by Senator Weber
By M.C. Millman

Senator Bill Weber continued his camp tours yesterday by stopping at Camp Elyon, one of Rockland County's premier summer camps.

The Senator was instrumental in securing the campus after being alerted to the need by Menny Schwab, as Rockland Daily reported previously here.

The tour included a visit to each baseball field and basketball court, where the campers played competitive sports after an assembly with the senator in the auditorium.

"I had a phenomenal time at Camp Elyon," Senator Weber tells Rockland Daily. "It was great speaking to the more than 400 campers about my time in camp, participating in many of the same great activities and trips as they are. I was awed by how nicely the campers played ball together. They were also so upbeat and respectful! Thank you to Rabbi and Mrs. Isaak for giving these children a wonderful summer. I look forward to visiting again soon wearing my new "E!" cap."

Senator Weber presented Rabbi Yitzchok Isaak with a Certificate of Merit for providing Rockland youth with a healthy and recreational outlet during the summer months. Each camper was presented with a New York State coloring book.

"It was a great honor and pleasure for Camp Elyon to host Senator Bill Weber, a well-known friend of our community, who has been so instrumental in advocating on behalf of Rockland's summer camps," Rabbi Isaak, Camp Elyon director, shares with Rockland Daily. "We look forward to our continued relationship with Senator Weber for many years to come."
