Bushfire Tears Through 50 Acres of Land

An aggressive bushfire began spreading Tuesday, early afternoon, on Torne Valley Road in Hillburn, NY.

The Hillburn Fire Department was alerted at around 1:00 pm when a multitude of firefighters was dispatched to get the flames under control.

The fire ranged over a whopping 50 acres, according to the Hillburn Fire Department, which was assisted by the Rockland and Orange County Fire Departments, as well as some others.

Two firefighters were transported to the hospital after they were injured in the mountains.

By the time the skies turned dark, most of the fire was out and the few spots that were left burning were observed overnight by the New York State Police.
