Breathing Easier - Spring Hill Ambulance Corp Eases the Way for EMTs

by M.C. Millman
Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps announced the purchase of a new oxygen cylinder lift that will significantly reduce lifting and moving injuries that EMTs can suffer not only from lifting patients but also when lifting heavy oxygen tanks.
The new oxygen cylinder lift will help prevent injuries when swapping out the 50-kilogram main oxygen cylinders inside the ambulances, which can lead to lifting injuries. The lift will be stored in Spring Hill's oxygen room to be utilized, as needed, to swap out the empty oxygen cylinders for new, full cylinders in all ten Spring Hill ambulances. As a bonus, the new oxygen cylinders fit into very tight compartments in the ambulance.
"We are always thinking of our members," Spring Hill Ambulance Chief Eli Ungar shares exclusively with Rockland Daily, "focusing on how to make their job safer, easier, and more enjoyable, since we all know, rewarding as it is, being an EMT can be a very stressful line of work."
