Bde: The Shinever Rebbe of Monsey, Zt”L, Illustrious Link to the Past

It is with deep sadness that we report upon the passing of one of the most senior Admorim, the Shinever Rebbe of Monsey, Rebbe Avrohom Menachem Mendel Wagschal, zt”l. He was 93 years of age. 

The Rebbe was a true link to the past, and remembered a number of Admorim and Rabbonim from before the war. 

The Rebbe served for years as a maggid shiur in the Satmar yeshiva on Sands Street in Brooklyn, the first location of the Satmar yeshiva where the first generation of postwar children were educated in the ways of Torah and yiras Shomayim under the Rebbe’s influence. 

In Monsey, the Rebbe’s beis medrash Divrei Yechezkel was a beacon of light to the entire community. 

The Rebbe was unwell in recent months, and chassidim and admirers have been storming the heavens for his refuah sheleiema. 

Alas, the Rebbe was taken from this world in the morning hours of Monday, leaving his chassidim and his family orphaned and bereft. 

The levaya will take place today Monday, at 3:30pm, at his Beis Medrash 'Shinov', on 3 Nesher Ct.
