BDE: The Barniver Rebbetzin, a”h

It is with great sadness that we report on the passing of Rebbetzin Tzipporah Halberstam, a”h, the Barniver Rebbetzin of Monsey. She was 67 years of age. 

The rebbetzin was the daughter of the previous Rachmastrivka Rebbe, zt”l, and was born in New Square, where the Rebbe was then residing. 

She was named for the mother of her maternal grandfather, the previous Skverer Rebbe, zt”l. 

She was married to, ybl”ch, the Barniver Rebbe, Rav Tzvi Elimelech Halberstam, a son of the Kiviashder Rebbe, and together they raised twelve illustrious children. 

The rebbetzin was known for her wisdom, and she carried herself with the cognizance of her illustrious yichus. 

The rebbetzin collapsed this afternoon and was taken to the hospital where she passed away a short time later. 

The levaya will take place 10pm at the Shul in New Square, then at the Barniver Beis Medrash this evening at 10:30. Kevurah will be at the Har Shulem Cemetery, near the resting place of her saintly father, the Rachmastrivka Rebbe.
