BDE: Shocking Passing of Reb Menachem Toprowitz, 39

by Yitzy Fried
Tragedy struck the Monsey and Wesley Hills communities with the sudden and shocking petirah of R’ Menachem Toprowitz. He suffered a heart attack and passed away suddenly at the untimely age of 39 in the late hours of Thursday night.
His father is R’ Amichai Toprowitz of Monsey, a well-known ba’al tzedakah, and Menachem was raised with ahavas haTorah and ahavas hamitzvos which he pursued all his life. As a bachur he learned in Yeshiva Nachlas Haleviim in Haifa, which was established by his grandfather, R’ Shlomo Toprowitz, z”l.
Devastated friends tell Rockland Daily that Menachem was not only a beloved and wonderful friend, father, and husband, but a deeply sincere Yid. “He was never satisfied in ruchniyus, he always sought to do more,” related a friend.
The niftar was a beloved member of Kehillas Yeshurun in Wesley Hills which is led by Rav Aaron Senter, and returned from a trip to Eretz Yisroel that the kehillah took together only two weeks ago.
Reb Menachem leaves behind a wife and five children, and an entire community of friends and acquaintances who will miss him dearly.
The Levaya will take place at 11:00 this morning at Kehillas Yeshorim, 1 Harriet Lane.
