BDE: R’ Shlomo Aaron Simkowitz, z”l

We regret to inform you of the petirah of R’ Shlomo Aaron Simkowitz, a pillar of the Viznitzer chassidus in Montreal, and the gabbai of the Viznitzer Rebbe of Montreal. He was around seventy years of age. 

The niftar was known for his special eidelkeit and his yiras Shomayim. He was zoche to establish a beautiful Torah home with children and grandchildren who are Bnei Torah and yerei Shomayim. 

One acquaintance recalled the niftar as a  true role model for Chassidus who had true emunah in tzaddikim, traveling long distances to the Admorim of Viznitz.

“He lived an elevated life,” he recalled.

Many in the Montreal community also remember him as a dedicated melamed of young children. 

R’ Shlomo Aaron was sadly taken from this world suddenly on Friday morning. 

The levaya will take place in front of the Viznitzer Beis Medrash in Monsey on Sunday morning.
