BDE: R’ Binyomin Zev Tzig, z”l

We are saddened to inform of the petirah of R’ Binyomin Zev Tzig, z”l, an ardent Viznitzer chossid and yerei Shomayim. 

The niftar lived for many years in Montreal, and then in Monsey for a number of years as well. 

He spent his youth in the presence of the Imrei Chaim of Viznitz, and later followed the Yeshu’os Moshe, and after his passing became tethered with heart and soul to the current Rebbe, Rav Mendel, shlit”a. 

The niftar worked for many years as a shochet, and was known for his yiras Shomayim and avodas Hashem. He was an incredible heartfelt ba’al tefillah, and a great Talmid Chochom. 

He became unwell a few months ago, and was niftar overnight at the age of 73–leaving behind a devastated illustrious family and broken-hearted fellow chassidim and acquaintances. 

The Levaya took place at the viznitzer Beis Medrash in the presence of the Rebbe who is near for a grandchild’s wedding. 

An additional levaya is set to take place in Monsey at the Nikolsburg Shul on 6 Milton Place, at 12:00 PM.

He will then be buried in the New Square Cemetary.
