Arrested: Suspect who Assaulted Jewish Man in Unprovoked Attack Friday Night in Spring Valley

by Sarah Morgenstern
Spring Valley Police detectives just arrested the suspect who allegedly assaulted a young Jewish man who was walking with his wife and children on West Street in Spring Valley at 9:30pm on Friday night.
“Great job by the Spring Valley Police Detectives,” Chaverim Rockland just tweeted.
As captured on a surveillance video, the young family walked home on March 18, the suspect, a tall African-American man reportedly appeared in the dark night, walked up to the Jewish man, and viciously punched and beat him repeatedly: knocking him down to the ground.
Thinking quickly, the victim’s wife grabbed her children and ran for help. Local emergency medical services and Spring Valley Police arrived quickly, however, the suspect was long gone: having fled to parts unknown.
After arresting the assailant today, police have not yet released his name and the charges they pressed for the unprovoked attack. The condition of the young man is also unknown.
