Yesterday afternoon, emergency personnel responded to a  call in Wesley Hills for an appliance fire.

Upon arrival, the fire department upgraded the scene to a  structure fire as the fire was spreading. Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1 was at the scene as was the Monsey Fire Department and the New City Fire Engine Co. No. 1.

Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics treated the burn patient and also called in two additional crews to be on standby at the scene while the fire department dealt with the fire.

The Ramapo Police Department was also present.

One patient was transported to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition, and no further injuries were reported.
