American Dream Mall Turns Into Nightmare

Record numbers of bargain hunters and entertainment seekers on Monday, December 26, got more than they bargained for as high traffic volume and several accidents created backlogs of up to two hours for shoppers waiting to exit the American Dream Mall.
Too many who spent Monday holiday shopping, dining, or enjoying other activities at the sprawling mall complex found themselves at a standstill when they decided to head home.
The traffic exiting the mall was so bad that the police received countless calls, and some drivers were forced to leave their cars because, with temperatures dropping into the upper 20's and no progress on being able to leave - it was simply too cold to wait any longer outside.
"Between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., troopers responded to eight minor motor vehicle accidents in the parking garages of American Dream," State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez told New Jersey 101.5.
"It's a nightmare scenario at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey tonight," Shlomo Schorr, a shopper, tweeted "as people remain stuck in their vehicles for hours."
