Absurd: The Friday Night Attacker was Identified and Released under Bail Reform Law

The Spring Valley Police Department identified the assailant who attacked a Jewish family this past Friday night, as 49-year-old Donald Lane.

Lane, who was arrested on March 20th and charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child, was astoundingly released under the Bail Reform Law.

As previously reported on Rockland daily, a Jewish man had been walking with his wife and kids on West Street Friday night when he was physically assaulted and punched repeatedly by a tall African American guy. 

The perpetrator had initially fled the scene but was caught by the police on Sunday.

The attacker was “released on his own recognizance” pending a court date on March 29th.

Despite his arrest, the Spring Valley Police Department continues to urge any witnesses to come forward by reaching out to 845-356-7400.
