3 Male Perpetrators Arrested by RPD

Three males were arrested by Ramapo Police Department for the removal and theft of catalytic converters from school buses in Chesnut Ridge.

On June 16, 2022, at approximately 3:39 am, the Ramapo Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Red Schoolhouse Road in the Village of Chestnut Ridge.

Upon further investigation, officers found evidence that unknown parties were in the process of removing catalytic converters from the school buses located at the Chestnut Ridge Transportation facility.

Ramapo Police officers with assistance from the Ramapo Police K9 unit, Rockland County Sheriff’s Department, Montvale PD, Park Ridge PD, Woodcliff Lake PD, and the New York State Police formulated a perimeter and conducted a search of the area.

During the course of the search, 3 males were located and arrested. 

The 3 males, ages 21, 22, and 23, were charged with the following: Auto Stripping 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Trespass, and more.

All three were arraigned in the Village of Chestnut Ridge Court by the Honorable Judge Benedict and released on their own recognizance with a future court date.
