Last week, Rockland County Executive Ed Day, alongside Sheriff Louis Falco, approved $2.9 million in funding for license plate readers to monitor County traffic at 42 entry and egress points in and out of Rockland County, along with other key sites.

The funding will also be applied towards counter-terrorism training for Rockland law enforcement and purchasing cybersecurity equipment.

Lastly, the funds will be utilized by the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Initiative, which partners with the Rockland Probation Department for probationer checks and joint patrols with local police departments.
